Tayme Stewart

Growing up in the Lower Mainland, I have had opportunities to immerse myself in the natural environment, from taking surf trips to Tofino, hiking summits in Squamish, or paddleboarding anywhere I can find water. Having experienced so much of the land's natural beauty, it was only a matter of time before I decided to do everything in my power to protect it.

Early in my undergraduate studies, I learned how vital efficient procurement of energy is in mitigating harm to these natural places. I have had the opportunity to work with others who share my passion for sustainability in various projects, including designing prototypes for battery charging water turbines and utilizing software to measure the energy use of buildings. I have become particularly interested in hydrogen fuel cell technology and have been fortunate to work with the National Research Council Canada on hydrogen fuel cell and carbon capture research.

While my academic background is centred around Sustainable Energy Engineering, my primary ambition is to protect the environment. In addition to my professional goals, I strive to promote and contribute to all types of sustainable projects and incorporate sustainable solutions into my personal life.
