Lydia Brant, EIT

I’m an engineer in training with over three years of experience in the oil and gas industry prior to joining Brightspot.  I’ve spent the past couple of years working on drilling sites in Northern Alberta, B.C. and most recently, on one of the world’s deepest offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. I have been fortunate to have grown up in Alberta surrounded by wilderness and mountains and this has motivated me to work towards sustainable climate and environmental solutions. In my previous role, I took this passion and spearheaded multiple initiatives on oil and gas sites to reduce emissions and waste disposal.

Outside of work, you can find me staying active either in the mountains or playing a sport. I’m incredibly lucky to live less than an hour from the Rockies and I take advantage as much as possible to either hike, camp or snowboard on the weekends. I can turn into a pretty competitive person when I play sports and played premier soccer until I blew out both my knees. Now I am searching for a competitive sport that is easier on my old knees!
